My Country Walks

Welcome to my new blog following my move to the Cotswolds in early 2018.

Previously living on the edge of Dartmoor I shared details of my walks on Dartmoor on my previous blog My Dartmoor Walks. As I explore this new area I will share details of the routes here.

Tuesday 7th September - Cleeve Hill

Starting from the Wardens car park on Cleeve Hill on a very hot day. Along the top past the masts to the two trees then steeply down through Queen's Wood. Around the edge of Prestbury and steeply back up again to join the Cotswold Way near Piccadilly Farm. Through Puckham Wood and back to the start.  About 7 miles with 1000 feet of ascent.

The highest point in the Cotswolds by the brightly painted trig point.

The memorial tree

Coming out of the wood with this view across to the race course and Cheltenham

Coffee break and a time to admire the view.

Going back up
