My Country Walks

Welcome to my new blog following my move to the Cotswolds in early 2018.

Previously living on the edge of Dartmoor I shared details of my walks on Dartmoor on my previous blog My Dartmoor Walks. As I explore this new area I will share details of the routes here.

Wednesday 25th August 2021 - the second leg of the Diamond Way

The second leg of the Diamond Way from Jackdaws Castle to Chipping Campden. The Hedgehog bus took us from Chipping Campden to the start. Ideal walking conditions, overcast and much cooler. A longer walk today about 13.5 miles with 1200 feet of ascent.

At the start by Jackdaws Castle

First coffee stop on Beechy Bank near Hinchwick Manor.

A lunky - a gap through the bottom of the dry stone wall

At our second coffe stop all the sheep came across - obviously thought we migh share some of our food with them

Blockley - a very pretty Cotswold village

Church of St Peter and St Paul, Blockley

A unusual building within Northwick Park - just outside of Blockely

Coming up the steep bit.

Chipping Campden comes into view - about 2 miles away

St Michael's and All Angels Church, Broad Campden

Broad Campden

The East Banqueting House and St James Church Chipping Campden.
