Welcome to my new blog following my move to the Cotswolds in early 2018.

Previously living on the edge of Dartmoor I shared details of my walks on Dartmoor on my previous blog My Dartmoor Walks. As I explore this new area I will share details of the routes here.

Haresfield Beacon Wednesday 31stOctober 2018

Starting from the National Trust car park for Haresfield Beacon on a lovely sunny warm morning.  Down through Standish Wood and then back on to the Cotswold Way for a while. Then down over Ocker Hill for a coffee break. On through Ruscombe Farm to Whiteshill and up through Pitchcombe Wood. The lunch stop was by the disused quarry on Scottsquare Hill. Re-joining the Cotswold Way to the Haresfield Beacon and back to the start.

Just over 9 miles and 1963 feet.

Jubilee Bridge Fladbury 28th October



A frosty start with a cool north westerly wind. Starting from the Jubilee bridge near Fladbury. South through Cropthorne and out past Smokey Farm. Across to the little ridge near Lower Haselor House. Through the orchards at Boston Farm and on to the edge of Hampton. North on Red Lane and louping through Charlton. Finally out to the weir and lock at Fladbury before returning to the start. A fairly flat walk, just under 8 miles with a height gain of 400 feet.

With the Cleeve Ramblers.

Across the field and up to the little ridge.

A hugh number of scrap cars in the field just before the.....

..orchards. A high fence to keep you away from the apple trees.

Lunch stop by the ditch sheltering from the wind.

Severn Springs 24th October 2018



A fine cool morning starting from the Hungry Horse at Severn Springs. On the Cotswold Way and up to Hartley Hill with fine views across Cheltenham. On to Leckhampton Hill. Continuing on the Cotswold Way to the National Star College. On to South Hill and Long Barrow. Through Coldwell Bottom and on to Cowley Wood for our lunch stop. Down through the wood and on to Cockleford. Then up and up to Upper Coberley and back to the start.

Just over 11 miles with a gain of 1451 feet. Total time for walk just over 5 hours.

St Kenelms Well 23rd October 2018



A short walk from Winchcombe on the Gloucestershire Way to Fluke's Hill and Monk's Hole. A short distance along the Salt Way on to the Winchombe Way and then across to St Kenelm's Well. On to Sudeley Hill Farm. Back into Winchombe on the Warden's Way.

6 miles and a height gain of 900 feet.
