Previously living on the edge of Dartmoor I shared details of my walks on Dartmoor on my previous blog My Dartmoor Walks. As I explore this new area I will share details of the routes here.

Tuesday 18th May - Guiting Power

 

Starting from Guiting Power in glorious sunshine.  Through the village and past the rapeseed fileds by Castlett Farm.  On through Caslett wood and around Guiting Wood. Up Campden Lane to Deadmanbury Gate. Back through Guiting Wood with an expected change in the weather  from sunshine to rain. 8.5 miles with 900 feet of ascent.

Tuesday 11th May 2021 - Birdlip

From Birdlip in the rain  (it didn't last very long) on a track I haven't been on before. Into Hazel Hanger Wood an following the valley all the way down the valley to Caudle Green. On to Syde and back through Brimpsfield.  11 miles with 1000 feet of ascent.

Tuesday 4th May 2021 Mickleton

Abright sunny morning with a cool breeze. Starting from Mickleton. Up past Kiftsgate Court and Hidcote Manor to Foxcote House. Returning through Hidcote Boyce and Bakers Hill Wood. Just under 8 miles with 950 feet of ascent.
