My Country Walks

Welcome to my new blog following my move to the Cotswolds in early 2018.

Previously living on the edge of Dartmoor I shared details of my walks on Dartmoor on my previous blog My Dartmoor Walks. As I explore this new area I will share details of the routes here.

Tuesday 7th July 2026 Naunton

From Naunton following the Warden's Way to Upper and Lower Slaughter. Returning on the Macmillan Way and the Windrush Way. On the edge of another heat wave with temperatures in the high 20C's at the end. It was hot! 10 miles with 900 feet ascent.

Thursday 2nd July 2026 Cold Aston

A 10 mile solo walk from Cold Aston and a recce for another day later in the year. With the promise of higher temperatures I started walking at 7:30am. Major road works in Cold Aston which will go on until October! Initially on the path around Folly Farm then on the Gloucestershire Way to Notgrove to Salperton. South to Hazleton on the Diamond Way to Turkdean and returning to Cold Aston
