My Country Walks

Welcome to my new blog following my move to the Cotswolds in early 2018.

Previously living on the edge of Dartmoor I shared details of my walks on Dartmoor on my previous blog My Dartmoor Walks. As I explore this new area I will share details of the routes here.

Severn Springs 24th October 2018

A fine cool morning starting from the Hungry Horse at Severn Springs. On the Cotswold Way and up to Hartley Hill with fine views across Cheltenham. On to Leckhampton Hill. Continuing on the Cotswold Way to the National Star College. On to South Hill and Long Barrow. Through Coldwell Bottom and on to Cowley Wood for our lunch stop. Down through the wood and on to Cockleford. Then up and up to Upper Coberley and back to the start.

Just over 11 miles with a gain of 1451 feet. Total time for walk just over 5 hours.

With the Gloucestershir mid-week ramblers.

On the way up to Hartley Hill.

The view across Cheltenham with the Eagle Tower - many hours spent in that building.

The topograph on Hartley Hill.

Coldwell Bottom.

The track down through Cowley Wood.

Wild flowers galore at the end of October.
