My Country Walks

Welcome to my new blog following my move to the Cotswolds in early 2018.

Previously living on the edge of Dartmoor I shared details of my walks on Dartmoor on my previous blog My Dartmoor Walks. As I explore this new area I will share details of the routes here.

Jubilee Bridge Fladbury 28th October

A frosty start with a cool north westerly wind. Starting from the Jubilee bridge near Fladbury. South through Cropthorne and out past Smokey Farm. Across to the little ridge near Lower Haselor House. Through the orchards at Boston Farm and on to the edge of Hampton. North on Red Lane and louping through Charlton. Finally out to the weir and lock at Fladbury before returning to the start. A fairly flat walk, just under 8 miles with a height gain of 400 feet.

With the Cleeve Ramblers.

Across the field and up to the little ridge.

Coffee stop in the cool wind.

The view across to the Malvern Hills.

Stairway to Heaven?

A hugh number of scrap cars in the field just before the.....

..orchards. A high fence to keep you away from the apple trees.

Lunch stop by the ditch sheltering from the wind.

The weir at Fladbury and....

...the lock
