Wednesday 2nd October 2019 Cotswold Way 6 - Haresfield to Coopers Hill

The 6th leg of the Cotswold Way from Haresfield to Coopers Hill. A cooler sunny day with excellent views. From the car park to the topograph and on to the beacon. Along the path through the woods and up to Edge Common on Rudge Hill for a coffee stop. Then down into the valley before going up to Painswick. Next up to Painswick Beacon where stopped for a while for lunch. On past Cranham Corner to Cooper's Hill where the famous cheese rolling takes place.

9.4 miles and 1600 feet ascent.

Wednesday 4th September 2019 Cotswold Way Cam Peak to Haresfield CP

The fifth section from Cam Peak to Haresfield beacon car park. We were dropped at the car park just below Cam Peak. The Cotswold Way doesn't go over the peak but four of us decided to do this an meet the other on the path just below. Then over Cam Long Down before going steeply down and up again to walk on the escarpemnt to Coaley Peak with fantastic views across the river Severn. On to Kings Stanley and down to cross the canal then gently up to Westrip, Maiden Hill and finally through Standish Wood.

10.5 mles and 2353 feet ascent.

Wednsday 7th August 2019 Cotswold Way - Wootton-under-Edge to Cam Peak

The fourth leg of the Cotswold Way starting in Wootton-under-Edge. Through the town and then steeply up Wotton Hill with fabulous views at the top.  Through the woods to the Tyndale monument.

Willian Tyndale was born in 1484 in the nearby village of North Nibley. He completed the first translation of the bible into English.

Next down to North Nibley and through the fields to climb up the escarpment a second time to Stinchcombe Hill. A stop here for lunch but a heavy shower prompted us to move on around the golf course and the edge of the Stinchcombe Hill.

Next steeply down to Dursley for the final section through the fields and the coll between Cam Peak and Cam Long Down.

Just over 9 miles and 1700 feet ascent.
