My Country Walks

Welcome to my new blog following my move to the Cotswolds in early 2018.

Previously living on the edge of Dartmoor I shared details of my walks on Dartmoor on my previous blog My Dartmoor Walks. As I explore this new area I will share details of the routes here.

Tuesday 24th February 2026 - Miserden

A while since I have walked from Miserden. What a change the sun came out, it was warmer and it didn't rain. A wonderful morning for a walk! Ahilly walk out to Througham and back through Sudgrove. Still slippery under foot. 7 miles with about 1100 feet of ascent.

Going down the slippery bit

Good to see the spring blossom out

And up the steeper bit

The Miserden heating hub which serves about 40 houses. Managed by the Miserden estate.
