My Country Walks

Welcome to my new blog following my move to the Cotswolds in early 2018.

Previously living on the edge of Dartmoor I shared details of my walks on Dartmoor on my previous blog My Dartmoor Walks. As I explore this new area I will share details of the routes here.

Tuesday 27th January 2026 - Snowshill

Lots of rain last week and then Storm Chandra hit. Whilst we were on the edge of the storm there was a lot of rain overnight. It hadn't stopped when we started although the forecast was it to ease during the walk.  Very slippery underfoot and difficult to stay upright in places. And, so we had an adventure with lots of hills too. Good to finish the walk and then have lunch in the Snowhill Arms. We deserved it! 7 miles with 1100 feet of ascent

Snowshill not quite as picturesque as usual
