My Country Walks

Welcome to my new blog following my move to the Cotswolds in early 2018.

Previously living on the edge of Dartmoor I shared details of my walks on Dartmoor on my previous blog My Dartmoor Walks. As I explore this new area I will share details of the routes here.

Tuesday 31st December 2024 - Bredon Hill

A solo walk today and recce for a walk later in January. An earlier start than usual and good to see the low sun in the sky. Overall a dull morning with a strong wind. Initailly on the steeper bit  following the Wychavon Way to Banbury Tower. Down to Westmancote and  returning through Kemerton, Overbury, Conderton and Grafton. 10 miles with 1100 feet ascent.

Ashton-under-Hill and a festive war memorial

The low early morning sun.
