My Country Walks

Welcome to my new blog following my move to the Cotswolds in early 2018.

Previously living on the edge of Dartmoor I shared details of my walks on Dartmoor on my previous blog My Dartmoor Walks. As I explore this new area I will share details of the routes here.

Sunday 18th August 2024 - Southam

With Cleeve Ramblers celebrating their 40th anniversary. From Southam up to the edge of Cleeve Hill. Across to Cockbury Butts and then Prescott. Returning around the edge of Nottingham Hill and back to Southam. Just over 7 miles with 900 ft ascent. Perfect walking conditions sunshine and not to hot. Tea, coffee and cake in Southam village hall afterwards to celebrate.

Going up to the main road from Southam.

Then the steeper bit on the edge of Cleeve Hill. A stop at the Golf club for coffee or ice cream.

Down to Dryfield and Cockbury Butts and pas the Frog Wood.
