My Country Walks

Welcome to my new blog following my move to the Cotswolds in early 2018.

Previously living on the edge of Dartmoor I shared details of my walks on Dartmoor on my previous blog My Dartmoor Walks. As I explore this new area I will share details of the routes here.

Tuesday 29th July - Elmley Castle

From Elmley Castle steeply up to the top of Bredon Hill, down to Bredon's Norton, Great Comberton and back on a day of mixed weather. Much cooler and fresher at the start, rain was forecast but didn't happen. Walking in the mizzle of the clouds on Bredon Hill and then later the sun came out. 10.5 miles with 1450 feet ascent. With the lack of rain our green and pleasant land has become brown and burned.

Through the cattle on the way down to Bredon's Norton - they looked more fearsome than they actually were.
