My Country Walks

Welcome to my new blog following my move to the Cotswolds in early 2018.

Previously living on the edge of Dartmoor I shared details of my walks on Dartmoor on my previous blog My Dartmoor Walks. As I explore this new area I will share details of the routes here.

Tuesday 14th May 2024 North of Moreton-in-Marsh, Aston Magna and Lower Lemington

We started just north of Morton-in- marsh initially heading through Dorm and then we missed the turning for the footpath and headed into the woods through some difficult ground eventually coming out in a large timber yard. These thing do sometimes happen! We continued on our walk going through Lower Lemington, past the fishing lakes returning through Upper Lemington. 7 miles with 500ft ascent.

On the Diamond Way

Into the woods

Negotiating a fallen tree....

Through the boggy bit...

Down a steeper bank...

Into the timber yard and back to normal

Aston Magna

Lower Lemington

Church of St Leonard, Lower Lemington

Just to prove we were on a proper path
