We started from the lay-bye on the A40 just below Whittington. This walk had also been advertised in the Cotswold Lion so with some extras there were over 30 on the walk.
The route took us to Sevenhampton, Brockhampton, West Wood, Wontley Farm, Wardens Wood and back through Whittington.
A fine warm sunny morning.
8.63 miles and 800 feet ascent.

My Country Walks
Previously living on the edge of Dartmoor I shared details of my walks on Dartmoor on my previous blog My Dartmoor Walks. As I explore this new area I will share details of the routes here.

Wednesday 13th February - Andoversford
31 on the walk this week. Starting at the Royal Oke in Andoversford. Our route took us Syreford, Sevenhampton, Soundborough, Hampden and Shipton. Milder than recently with some sunny spells. A fairly easy walk but with styles and so many walkers we did tend to get well spread out. Lunch in the Royal Oke and another shorter walk in the afternoon (which I wasn't able to do)
7.8 miles 1000 feet ascent.

Tuesday 5th February 2019 Cotswold Way Dowdeswell Reservoir to Severn Springs
Very foggy on the higher ground. This was all about doing another short stretch of the Cotswold Way from Dowdeswell Reservoir to Seven Springs. I started at Severn Springs and followed the Cotswold Way around Wistley Hill. Steeply down Ravensgate Hill and past Old Dole Farm then down to the A40 west of Dowdeswell Reservoir. Along the road to rejoin the Cotswold Way. Up along the edge of Lineover Wood and back to Wistley Hill.
