My Country Walks

Welcome to my new blog following my move to the Cotswolds in early 2018.

Previously living on the edge of Dartmoor I shared details of my walks on Dartmoor on my previous blog My Dartmoor Walks. As I explore this new area I will share details of the routes here.

Monday Evening 22nd March 2020 Stanton to Snowshill

An evening walk from Stanton to Snowshill. Initially I followed the Winchcombe Way to just above Laverton and then took a direct path up to the top to rejoin the Winchcombe Way. Then across towards Buckland Wood and back on the Winchcombe Way down steeply before coming back up to Snowshill. From here it was across to Shenberrow Hill to take the Cotswold way back down to Stanton.

Just over 7 miles 1450 feet ascent.

Entering Snowshill. Very quiet with no one else around during the lockdown.

Monday 15th June 2020 Poppy fields

A visit to the poppy fields at Condicote. I've never seen anything quite like this before - just spectacular.

Sunday 14th June 2020 Cycle Ride

An early morning ride through Didbrook, Stanway, Toddington, Alderton, Alstone and Gretton

17 miles with 880 feet ascent

Saturday 6th June 2020 Chipping Campden

A solo circular walk from Chipping Campden to Hidcot Bartrim. A cool blustery day with a mixed bag of weather. I had not previously walked in this area and it is always good to explore new places.

10 miles and 810 feet ascent.
